Jodi Decker began her career at Safety Systems over 25 years ago with responsibility for scheduling testing and inspection accounts.  She is now Chair of the Board of Directors, and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation.  She is responsible for overall corporate direction, long range planning, and handles the financial disbursements.

Dan Decker has over 30 years of experience in the fire alarm industry. In 1986 Dan became our first technician certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), a certification organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers. In 1988 Dan earned the Senior Engineering Technician (SET) designation in the Special Hazards Systems category. In 1991 he earned a second SET designation in Fire Alarm Systems, becoming one of the first 16 individuals in the nation to achieve this level in the Fire Alarm Systems category.  Dan is a graduate of Jackson Community College and Spring Arbor University, with a degree in Business Administration.

In 1990, Dan was selected by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as a Principal member of the Technical Committee on Fundamentals of Fire Alarms. This committee is responsible for Chapters One through Four of the National Fire Alarm Code, NFPA 72.

Dan earned the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation from the Professional Certification Board of the American Society for Industrial Security in 1995, demonstrating a proficiency in the protection of corporate assets.

Dan is Vice President of the Burglar and Fire Alarm Association of Michigan. He has also taught NICET test preparation courses for the Association since 1990, and is a certified instructor for the AHJ Training Course in Fire Alarms. Dan also develops and teaches the Association's Code Update courses offered every three years.

Mike Harley, Vice President and Sales Manager, has over 25 years of experience in the electronics industry; 18 with a distributor of parts, equipment & tools, and 7 with Safety Systems, Inc. Mike is responsible for managing the sales force for security, fire alarms, and system service, tests & inspections.

Mike is also NICET Certified in the fields of Fire Alarm Systems (Level II) and Video Security Systems Designer (Level I).

Pat Brown, joined the Safety Systems team in January of 2000. As the corporate office manager, she brings experiences in various business fields. Her areas of expertise are in accounting, human resources, and benefit management. Her background includes twenty-five years of payroll, accounting, and financial preparation. Eight of those years involve human resources and benefit management.

Her responsibilities with Safety Systems include overseeing the accounting functions of the company and implementing the daily activities of the human resource and benefit department.  Pat is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Safety Systems, Inc.

Her education includes an associate degree in Human Resource Management, a bachelor degree in business management, and various completion certificates in human resources and benefit management.

John Craig, began his fire alarm career twenty years ago with Safety Systems as an apprentice technician. John has worked in a variety of technical roles, and is presently the Engineered Systems Manager, responsible for coordinating fire alarm engineering and technical activities in our Adrian, Livonia, Jackson, Lansing, and Toledo locations. John is also charged with staff training and development.

He has achieved certification as Senior Engineering Technician (SET) in Fire Alarm Systems, by NICET. He presently holds licenses as a fire alarm technician in Michigan and a fire alarm system designer in Ohio.

In 2000 John was selected as member of the National Fire Alarm Code Protected Premises Fire Alarm Systems Technical Committee. This committee is responsible for Chapter 6 of NFPA 72 - National Fire Alarm Code.

John is experienced in many different types of facilities including automotive manufacturing, pharmaceutical research and manufacturing, hospitals, prisons, high rise buildings, schools, and office buildings.

Gerald Soules is a 33 year veteran of Safety Systems, starting as an apprentice technician, and presently Technical Services Manager.  Gerry is responsible for safety training, project scheduling for installation, and oversees both the installation and service departments.  Gerry is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in business education, and served four years in the US Air Force.

Tammie Moore is the Central Station Supervisor, responsible for operations, staff training and development, and customer relations.  She started as a Central Station operator in 1994 and accepted increasing responsibilities over the years.  She is certified by the Central Station Alarm Association.

Jeff Cattell has over 22 years of service in the Fire Protection department.  Jeff became department manager in 2001, and is responsible for safety training, operations, sales, service and installations for portable fire extinguishers and special hazards fire suppression systems.  Jeff has completed factory training with Fike, PyroChem and Amerex, and has NICET Level II certification in fire alarm systems.

Steve Lee, Special Projects Manager, has been with Safety Systems since 1990.  Steve has NICET Level II certification in Special Hazards Systems Layout and Level IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems.  Steve is a graduate of Jackson Community College, and is currently pursuing a bachelors degree at Baker College.  Steve typically handles larger projects, and specializes in networked fire alarm and access control systems.
