Current Projects
Foote Hospital, Jackson, MI - Access Control Project, involves deploying a Schlage access control system throughout the Foote Health System network, including both on campus and off campus facilities. The system allows Foote staff and contractors to access specific doors, while denying access to unauthorized individuals. System managers can immediately deactivate a lost or stolen card in a matter of seconds. The system also features biometric readers in certain high security areas, requiring a hand scan to verify identity.
Ford Transmission Plant - Sterling Heights, MI - New Fire Alarm System. This system provides monitoring for the plant fire suppression and special hazards systems, along with automatic detection and manual pull stations. At nearly 2 million square feet, this plant presented some interesting design challenges in providing strobes and speakers throughout the plant and office areas. The final system design involves over 10,000 watts of amplifiers to support over 1,000 speakers.
Industrial Steel Treating, Jackson, MI - CO2 fire suppression system. IST provides heat treat services involving both high temperature furnaces and oil quench tanks. Safety Systems is providing addressable fire detection systems integrated with carbon dioxide fire suppression agent to automatically detect and extinguish a fire.
Magna Steyr Paint Facility, Toledo, OH - Fire Alarm System. Located in the Chrysler Supplier Park of the Toledo North Assembly Plant, this design-build fire alarm system provides supervision of the plant's sprinkler systems, special hazards fire suppression systems, automatic smoke detection, and manual pull stations. The emergency voice evacuation system provides audible and visible signaling throughout the various levels of this facility.
Naval Station Great Lakes, Chicago IL - Fire Alarm Replacement Project including analog detection, manual paging, and emergency voice alarm communications integrated with a Mass Notification System
Sinai Grace Hospital, Detroit, MI - Fire Alarm Replacement Project. This project involves installing a new Notifier networked fire alarm system with full emergency voice alarm and firefighter phone system in one of Michigan's largest hospitals. Adding to the challenge is the requirement to keep the existing system operational until approval of the new system by state and local authorities. Project completion is anticipated for Summer 2008.
Tenneco, Marshall, MI - Closed Circuit Television Project. This project involves installation of Bosch IP network cameras throughout the facility and communicating over an Internet Protocol (IP) network. The clarity and resolution of IP cameras is significantly superior to traditional CCTV systems, and provides the customer with maximum flexibility for review of either live or stored images.
Bank of the Netherlands Antilles, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles - New Fire Alarm Project. Safety Systems was selected as the fire alarm provider for this project based on the project engineers familiarity with our firm, and desire to have the job done right the first time. BNA is the equivalent of a Federal Reserve Bank, and we are providing a Notifier advanced analog fire alarm detection and voice alarm evacuation system in a highly secure facility. John Craig managed the first phase of this project several years ago, and returned with both a tan and a passion for scuba diving!
